Aquanox Deep Descent is a first person shooter with underwater vehicles , in which players control customizable ships to fight in wild battles in the dystopian underwater world of Aqua.
In the near future, the surface of the earth has become uninhabitable. The remaining humans survive under the sea in ancient bases of extraction and research. Born in the only world we know, the network of submarine settlements, are debated in a war for resources and the domination of various factions.

Aquanox Deep Descent recreates both the game and the world of the original saga AquaNox. The AquaNox saga originated in the game Archimedean Dynasty (in German: Schleichfahrt), released in 1996, followed by AquaNox in 2001 and AquaNox 2: Revelation in 2003.
All are shooting games with vehicles located in a dystopian future in the one that the humanity has had to leave the surface and to live in submarine stations of the oceans.
